USE A FEW MILLION
CERAMIC BEADS TO KEEP IN THE HEAT! |
 |
The Challenger Space Shuttle uses a ceramic bead
shield against heat during re-entry to the earth's atmosphere. Today
the same technology is used in ThermoBoat. Hollow ceramic micro
spheres blended into a proven acrylic polymer base. ThermoBoat will
keep any boat warm - it reflects radiant heat and is a highly
efficient insulator. ThermoBoat develops a tough water repellent, UV
resistant finish, drying by evaporation.
FEATURES
• High quality, lightweight coating.
• Seals hairline cracks.
• Environmentally & user friendly.
• Resistant to abrasion.
• Reflects infra red rays.
• Permeable to water vapour.
• Available in White only.
USES
• All types of boat
• Caravans and mobile homes
• Residential homes
• Factories Warehouses
• Agricultural buildings
• Livestock housing
• Lagging of hot liquids, steam and chilled water pipes.
• Metal wall cladded structures.
SURFACE PREPARATION
• All surfaces must be thoroughly clean and free of anything that
may adversely affect the adhesion of the coating to the surface.
• After cleaning, the surfaces must be suitably repaired to provide
a totally clean substrate on which to apply ThermoBoat.
• For large areas, use a high pressure (min 2000 psi. at the tip)
water blast to clean all surfaces and allow to dry thoroughly.
PRIMING
• All porous materials must be primed with ThermoBoat diluted with
10% water
• All steel (ferrous) surfaces must be either primed, galvanised or
previously painted before applying ThermoBoat.
• Older steel (ferrous) surfaces must have all loose, flaking or
chipping rust removed by scraping or wire brushing, to provide a
firm surface.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
• ThermoBoat must have a uniform dry film thickness of 500 microns.
• It is recommended that two coats be applied at a rate of 2m2 per 1
litre, per coat.
• ThermoBoat spreading rates will be less on rough, textured and
porous surfaces.
• Use a short nap (3mm) roller on small areas. Apply slowly with
light pressure on the roller to prevent air bubbles on the film
surface.
• Ensure the correct thickness of the coating applied, rather than
spreading the coating as with conventional paint.
• Use a large block brush on small areas.
• Airless Spray Equipment can be used for large areas.
• DO NOT apply on the inside of tanks.
• AVOID heavy traffic on the recoating.
• DO NOT apply below 10°C or above 35°C.
• STORE in a cool and dry environment.
